Mission
The mission of R. J. Ohlheiser, Inc. is to provide state of the art
software products and development services to both enterprises and small
businesses.
We believe that emerging
technologies provide substantial opportunity for more effective
software solutions to the challenges faced by businesses.
Increasingly complex products and administrative processes quickly
outgrow software tools written to support them. Increasingly
competitive markets and sophisticated products require software solutions
that improve productivity, provide flexibility, and enhance the level of
communication and interaction with customers.
An investment in software should return not only present day benefits,
but should also provide the flexibility to adapt to changing
products, processes, and environments.
Profile
Since 1988, R. J. Ohlheiser, Inc. has been providing products and
services to clients consistent with our mission. Representative engagements
include:
-
Designed and implemented several Insurance and Investment product illustration
systems for various insurance and brokerage clients. These solutions
utilize object oriented design and implementation features that maximize
component reuse over lines of similar products while also maximizing the speed
and efficiency for these inherently calculation intensive applications.
These systems are deployed on the Windows platform and are implemented in Visual
Basic and/or C++/MFC/ATL. Extensive use of COM objects enhances current day manageability
while providing flexibility for future expansion and modification.
-
Developed an implementation framework for use in creating custom or highly
specialized financial projection programs. This C++/ATL/COM framework implements a
generic calculation structure and document management design. By using the
basic application provided by the framework, Developers are able to focus their
talents and energies on application specific details. This enhances
Developer productivity and reduces overall development and testing time.
-
Developed a Web based inventory and order access system for a construction
materials distributor. This system allows Customers to access order and
inventory status directly from this Client's web site. This system
interfaces the Web application to the proprietary data base format of the
Client's third party Windows based order entry program. The Web
application is implemented using ASP and SQL Server. Database update is
handled with a custom C++/MFC applicaion.
-
Designed and implemented Web sites for small business and community based
non-profit organizations.
-
Designed and implemented utilization review programs for various health care
providers. These applications reviewed coding of medical and dental
procedures and generated statistical reports as well as identifying coding
inconsistencies.
-
Provided custom software requirements and design consulting services to several
clients. Worked with client teams to initiate projects, capture system
requirements, and develop general design approaches. Expertise in formal
requirements methods, object oriented design, and component technologies was the
value added to these Client initiatives.
